A PETITION TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES - Health Care Reform Can't Wait

Health Care Reform Bill Signed Into Law

In less than three weeks, more than 55,000 people signed our petition asking Congress to move forward and pass meaningful health care reform.

Then, on Sunday, March 21, the U.S. House passed a meaningful health care reform bill. The bill was signed into law by President Barack Obama two days later.

Included in the new law are provisions to:

  1. Increase the emphasis on disease prevention by reducing or eliminating out-of-pocket costs for lifesaving screenings for cancer and other diseases
  2. Guarantee all Americans access to quality, affordable health care, regardless of whether one has a pre-existing health condition
  3. Emphasize patients' quality of life by ensuring access to treatment for pain
